Publication Procedure

Wah Academia Journal of International Law and Policy (WAJILP) follows a transparent, rigorous, and double-anonymous peer-review process designed to ensure the academic quality, originality, integrity, and relevance of all published research. The journal is published quarterly, with four issues annually.

1. Manuscript Submission

Authors submit manuscripts through the journal’s designated submission system in accordance with the journal’s Author Guidelines. Submissions must be original, not under consideration elsewhere, and comply with the journal’s ethical and scholarly requirements.

2. Initial Editorial Screening

Each submission undergoes an initial editorial screening to assess its scope, originality, scholarly relevance, methodological soundness, academic presentation, and compliance with the journal’s submission requirements. Manuscripts that do not meet the basic requirements may be returned to authors or declined without external peer review.

3. Editorial Assessment

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assessed by the Editor-in-Chief or a designated handling editor for suitability for external peer review. Editorial decisions are based on academic and scholarly considerations rather than the authors’ identity, institutional affiliation, nationality, or other non-academic characteristics.

4. Double-Anonymous Peer Review

Eligible manuscripts are evaluated by at least two independent external reviewers with relevant subject expertise. The identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other throughout the review process. Reviewers must have no conflicts of interest with the authors or the manuscript.

5. Editorial Decision

The Editor-in-Chief makes the editorial decision after considering the reviewers’ reports, the manuscript’s scholarly quality, and its relevance to the journal. Possible decisions include acceptance, minor revision, major revision, or rejection. A manuscript may be sent for additional review when necessary.

6. Revision and Resubmission

Where revisions are requested, authors must submit a revised manuscript together with a clear response to the reviewers’ comments. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers or evaluated by the editor, as appropriate.

7. Final Editorial Assessment

Following completion of the required revisions, the Editor-in-Chief or designated editor conducts a final assessment to confirm that the manuscript meets the journal’s academic, ethical, and editorial standards before acceptance.

8. Copyediting, Proofreading, and Production

Accepted manuscripts undergo editorial preparation, copyediting, formatting, and proofreading. Authors are given an opportunity to review the final proofs and identify factual or typographical errors before publication.

9. Publication and DOI

The final article is published online as part of the journal’s scheduled issue and is assigned a DOI where applicable. Published articles remain permanently accessible through the journal’s online platform.

10. Research Integrity and Publication Ethics

All manuscripts are processed in accordance with WAJILP’s policies on publication ethics, plagiarism, conflicts of interest, research integrity, corrections and retractions, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence. The journal reserves the right to investigate suspected ethical or scholarly misconduct at any stage of the publication process.

11. Open Access and Licensing

WAJILP provides immediate open access to its published research in accordance with its Open Access and Licensing Policy. Copyright and licensing arrangements are stated clearly on the journal website and in the published article.

12. Editorial Independence

All publication decisions are based on scholarly merit, relevance, originality, research integrity, and compliance with the journal’s policies. No author is guaranteed publication, and acceptance is not based on payment, institutional affiliation, nationality, or personal considerations.
